Alan Parsons and David Park in Seal Beach April 11

On Sunday, April 11, Spaghettini Grill and Jazz Club in Seal Beach, one of Southern California’s premiere jazz venues, hosts a rare special multi-media music event that features performances by legendary pop artists and Grammy winning producers Alan Parsons and David Pack, former Ambrosia lead singer.

The event begins at 7 p.m. with a Storyteller Session and 5.1 Surround Playback, sponsored by Yamaha Corporation of America. This hour long segment features inside stories behind Parsons and Pack’s greatest works, including Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon (which Parsons engineered), a Pack produced all-star West Side Story project, and sessions with Paul McCartney (Parsons engineered his Red Rose Speedway album), Al Stewart, Barbra Streisand, Yes, Ambrosia, The Alan Parsons Project and others.

>From 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Parsons premieres on a large screen his massive new 3 DVD project entitled The Art & Science of Sound Recording, narrated by Oscar nominated actor Billy Bob Thornton. The famed producer introduces scenes from the program, along with the video for his new song “All Our Yesterdays,” released April 6, 2010. During this segment, Pack will premiere music from his new upcoming CD, including songs from Brian Wilson, the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds and The Beatles.

The centerpiece of the event is the Concert of All Time Greatest Hits, from 8:45 p.m. to 10 p.m. Among other songs, Parsons will perform Alan Parsons Project classics like “Eye In The Sky,” “Games People Play” and “Don’t Answer Me,” while Pack plays his Ambrosia classics “How Much I Feel,” “Biggest Part of Me,” “You’re The Only Woman” and more. During this segment, the two will switch off from the “unplugged” duo format to full 5 piece rock band. It is very rare to see artists of this magnitude together in an intimate venue, especially in a multi-media presentation such as this. Pack says, “this is the first time in over three decades Alan and I have done anything like this together. If you are a fan, this is the night you don’t want to miss, as we’ve worked hard to create something truly mind-boggling!”

Parsons and Pack have a friendship that dates back to the mid-70’s when Parsons, still at Abbey Road, mixed the first Ambrosia CD (Grammy nominated for engineering) and produced Ambrosia’s second album Somewhere I’ve Never Traveled (also Grammy nominated). The group introduced Alan to 20th Century Records President Russ Regan who then signed up the Alan Parsons Project—while David & Ambrosia played on the very first “Parson’s Project”
Edgar Allen Poe-Tales of Mystery & Imagination. Parsons & Pack continue to work together to this day. David co-wrote and sang “You Can Run” on Parson’s most current CD A Valid Path.

David Pack, who resides in Orange County, also does a lot of volunteer work to help pastor Rick Warren for his church Saddleback—recently booking the Jonas Brothers to appear at Angel Stadium on Easter Sunday, and hooking Warren up with Sirius XM satellite radio. Pack interviews Rick Warren in a 30 minute pre-Easter special for Sirius XM that will air at 9:30am PST on Sirius 90 XM 245, then repeats throughout the day.

The Parson- Pack evening wraps with a jam session featuring TBA surprise guests starting at 10 p.m
