Brother HijinX release debut album

Brooklyn-based band, Brother HijinX announces the release of their self-titled debut CD, which promises to garner avid supporters for their innovative
Atmo-Dub-Funk© style. Atmo-Dub-Funk = deep atmospheric grooves with a hearty helping of rump shakin' sonic rock dub funk improvisation.

The CD marks the second collaboration between Anthony Robustelli (vocals, keyboards, percussion, mouse & samples) and John Cabán (guitars, lap steel, vocals, percussion & atmosphere), two accomplished musicians whose distinctive individual styles deftly meld
to create a collection of truly exciting songs. For their debut, Brother HijinX boasts an
impressive line-up of guest musicians including:

Andy Hess – bass (Govt. Mule, Black Crowes, John Scofield)
Jeff Hill – bass (Rufus Wainwright, Marshall Crenshaw, Teddy Thompson)
Bill Foster - bass (Larry Coryell, Billy Cobham, Alana Davis)
Jordan Perlson – drums & percussion (Kaki King, Shamus Blake, Kenny Werner)
Dave Burnett – drums (Phonograph, Jen Chapin)
Yuval Lion – drums & percussion (Me'shell Ndgeocello, Pink Noise)
Ray Levier – drums (KJ Denhert, Mike Stern)

Cabán and Robustelli have been playing, recording and songwriting together as a production team for five years and the result of their collaboration has been earning them a steady following throughout the Northeast. Collectively, they have more than 30 years of experience as professional musicians and individually have played, toured and/or recorded with renowned artists including Michael Franti & Spearhead, Richard Bona, Gloria Gaynor, Art Neville, Bo Diddley,
Dana Fuchs, Alana Davis, Kenny Kirkland, Brian Jackson, John Cruz, Dispatch,
The Jungle Brothers, and Kelly Price.

Brother HijinX is a collection of 12 songs that capture Cabán & Robustelli’s superb songwriting style. It also gives the listener a hint of the band’s energetic live show experience, which is underscored by funky improvisation, extended rhythmic grooves and inventive dub explorations.
