Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros at UCLA May 20

The Student Committee for the Arts at UCLA presents Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros-Live at Royce Hall on Thursday May 20th, 2010 at 8 pm in a free concert for UCLA students also open for sale to the public (tickets $15-$20). The eclectic 10-piece folk rock ensemble of instruments and musicians with a bright, utopian feel is fresh off a groundbreaking set at last weekend’s Coachella Music and Arts Festival. New York-based Francis and the Lights will open the show in its Los Angeles debut.

Local LA 10-piece folk-rock ensemble Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros kicked off its 2010 festival route at Coachella and will be seen at Sasquatch and Bonnaroo. Francis and the Lights
Currently touring with rapper Drake, the band’s eclectic mix of synth-pop and throwback R&B vocals have garnered a wide fan base on the East Coast and abroad-- including MGMT, for whom the band opened last year. http://francisandthelights.com/

Tickets for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros are FREE for UCLA students, $15 for outside students, and $20 for general admission. They can be purchased via phone at 310-825-2101, in person at the UCLA Central Ticket Office at the southwest corner of James West Alumni Center, and at all Ticketmaster outlets. UCLA students must pick up tickets in advance with a valid UCLA ID. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 19th, 2010. Tickets are subject to availability.
