Los Angeles Visionaries Assocation upcoming events

Here are some brief highlights from LAVA's calendar – visit http://lavatransforms.org for full details and new additions.

We hope you can joinus for some of these Visionary-hosted events. If you can make just one each month, make it our Sunday Salon from noon to 2pm (next one is this Sunday, 4/25). This is a regularly scheduled lunchtime gathering held on the last Sunday of each month at Clifton's Cafeteria, and it's where the LAVA will really start flowing, as we get to know each other better over confetti-flecked jello and other delights.

Opening night for The Air That I Breathe (Take a Stroll through the Unseen Forest),
new works with paper, paint, and wood by artist Michael Gullberg, at Visionary Amy Inouye's Future Studio. Organic forms are painted on reclaimed wood, then combined with carved elements to create sculptural paintings. Drawings and studies will also be included. “In his paintings, Michael’s imagery rides the line between surrealism and abstraction. His beings, birds, animals, plants and landscapes remind us of this world but lead us into the spiritual world of our dreams and imaginations – the place where our true selves and our own "salvation" lies. His paintings take time to digest and require the viewer to meditate with eyes open. Images make themselves more apparent over time and with repeated viewing. Like music floating in our minds, his paintings allow our imaginations to drift in thought and memories. And just as we do with music, we take away our own individual meanings and interpretations of each of his paintings" Free, Future Studio, Highland Park, 7-10pm.
