Piro Shoes launches Soles4Souls campaign

Piro Shoes, an activewear and lifestyle shoe brand announced Thursday that for every pair of shoes sold the company will donate a pair to a child in need. The buy one, give one program will be implemented in partnership with Soles4Souls, the international shoe charity. Soles4Souls has donated more than 13 million pairs of shoes worldwide to individuals such as victims of the Haiti Earthquake and homeless shelters in the United States.

Piro is committed to helping the global community with the overwhelming need for footwear. Currently, more than 300 million children worldwide do not own a single pair of shoes. Considering most foreign countries require a pair of shoes for a child to attend school, their donation can mean the difference between a proper education and none at all.

“We are excited about our partnership with Piro Shoes,” said Wayne Elsey, Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls. “The simple gift of shoes can truly change someone’s life, and Piro is making a huge impact on the international community with their long-term commitments to make a difference.”

“Piro, from the start, has always strived to be more than just a footwear company. We have continuously looked for projects in which we would be able to donate our time and efforts,” said Piro CEO and President, Peter Asquini. “It is extremely rewarding for me personally and for Piro as a company to begin our relationship with Soles4Souls. They have a great team, a fantastic concept, and it is very easy to see the results of our combined efforts. Knowing that what we do as a part of our normal, everyday course of business will make a profound difference in the lives of those less fortunate, is both humbling and extremely satisfying.”

About Soles4Souls® & Clothes4Souls®

Soles4Souls collects, recycles and reuses shoes from warehouses of footwear companies and closets from individuals. We distribute usable shoes to people in need around the world (we recycle less than 2% of donated footwear). Since 2005, Soles4Souls has given away over 13 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes (currently distributing one pair every 7 seconds). The shoes have been distributed in 125 countries, including Haiti, Kenya, Nepal and the United States.

Clothes4Souls, a new division of Soles4Souls, provides hope for hurting people through the gift of new clothing from manufacturers, designers, and retailers. Those who graciously give (rather than destroy) unused inventory are assured their donations are distributed to people around the world living in desperate need.Donating parties are eligible for tax advantages.
