The Seedy Seeds win JanSport's Battle of the Bands

Thousands of bands submitted their music for the chance to play at SXSW in Austin, TX this March, 2011. JanSport's panel of judges hand-picked the top 50 bands, and thanks to your votes, we were able to narrow the selection down to the lucky Top 10. There were many talented artists in this years' pool of finalists, but only one band could be selected as the JanSport Battle of the Bands Grand Prize Winner.

Congratulations to The Seedy Seeds for being selected to play the Sonicbids Official Party at SXSW 2011, presented by JanSport.

Based in Cincinnati, OH, The Seedy Seeds have been writing and performing for the past 6 years. The concept for the band was born of a casual conversation in late 2005, in which Mike and Margaret hypothesized performing as a group with the instruments they owned but hadn't yet learned to play. The Seedy Seeds began writing, performing, and recording music shortly thereafter. Brian joined in 2008 following the release of "Count The Days," on which he contributed supplemental percussion. The Seedy Seeds have been acclaimed through various medias and become instant favorites among regional audiences and fellow performers alike.

We look forward to seeing the The Seedy Seeds live at SXSW on March 18, 2011 at Maggie Mae's, and look forward to meeting you all there as well!
