EarthRise SoundSystem is the shared musical vision of producer David "Duke Mushroom" Schommer and DJ/writer/yogi Derek Beres. Utilizing Duke's multi-instrumental background and worldly percussion with Derek's concepts of "Global Beat Fusion," this duo started collaborating energiesto create music for movement in late 2008. In 2010 they released their first full length album, The Yoga Sessions: EarthRise SoundSystem (Yoga Organix/White Swan), which has garnered praise by the NY Times, Yoga Journal, MTV, Boston Globe, Yoga International, LA Yoga and many others. As remixers, ERSS has re-worked such talent as Vieux Farka Toure, Femi Kuti, Bombay Dub Orchestra, Natacha Atlas, Nickodemus, Deva Premal, MC Yogi and others. A collection of the remix work, Remixes Are Songs, Too, is slated to be released in March, 2011.
