UK breakthrough band BIFFY CLYRO have won a 2011 Shockwave NME Award for Best Live Band, beating out Arcade Fire and Muse for the honor at the awards ceremony in London yesterday. The band were also nominated for a prestigious Brit Award for Best British Group this year, and have received wide acclaim for their compelling album Only Revolutions, which is nearly double platinum in the UK and has produced three Top 10 singles there.
After a successful East Coast/Midwest headlining run with many sold-out dates, including New York City, Biffy Clyro will be returning stateside this weekend to finish up their headlining tour, which hits Seattle, San Francisco, and finishes up with a sold-out show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on March 1. They will also be joining author Mark Danielewski for an intimate performance as part of SPIN Magazine's Liner Notes series at Los Angeles' Bootleg Theater on March 2. Biffy Clyro will return to the States at the end of March for a string of dates supporting Cage the Elephant, followed by a performance at this year's Bamboozle Festival.
