Bill Withers film screening in Pasadena Tuesday

In celebration of Black History Month, Pasadena City Councilwoman Jacque Robinson invites the community to a screening of the documentary film “Still Bill” Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the Crawford Family Forum at Southern California Public Radio, 474 S. Raymond Ave. in Pasadena

The film is an intimate portrait of soul legend Bill Withers, best known for his classic songs “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Lean On Me” and “Just the Two of Us.”

Filmmakers Damani Baker and Alex Vlack follower Withers and offer a rare look inside his world through concert footage, journeys to his birthplace and interviews with other music legends, his family and closest friends.

RSVPs are required at www.scpr.org/events/2011/02/22/evening-film-still-bill or (626) 744-7062.

Additional sponsors of the event are the Pasadena Arts & Culture Commission, KPCC Radio, Caltech and the Black History Planning Committee.
