Nearly two years ago, during a rare Georgia snowstorm, a young band of Athens gentlemen gathered together in the warm confines of Chase Park Transduction Studios for a hair-brained night of recording. A six song EP came from that session—one of undeniable character. After a spin of that debut, listeners held little doubt that Futurebirds truly enjoyed creating those songs.
Well, we’ve got good news for those who haven’t heard this yet. The recording has been re-mastered. Futurebirds EP will be released digitally on April 19th by Autumn Tone Records. Additionally, Holy Owned Subsidiary will release Futurebirds EP in a deluxe 150gm vinyl package.
The 150 gram vinyl EP will be sold in a recycled cardboard jacket, hand-painted and numbered by the band. In addition to the record, the package will contain limited edition art by local Athens photographer, Eddie Whelan. A digital download of the EP will also be included.
