The fabulous, unique sounds of OFF THE RECORD promise an enjoyable evening for all. 9-piece ensemble with vocalist, OFF THE RECORD offers a fresh interpretation to a variety of music from jazz and Latin tunes to standards from the Great American Songbook. Swingin’ blues, tender ballads, old time favorites and new music combine to create exciting variety at every performance! Great arrangements by Dirk Fischer, George Stone and members of the band along with the lyrically swinging vocal stylings of Lynn Keller make OFF THE RECORD a musical experience not to be missed !

OFF THE RECORD band leader and alto and soprano sax player Dan Cobb has assembled a group of artists who are thrilled to be playing the innovative music of Dirk Fischer and who enjoy the opportunity to share their musical talents with each other and their audiences.

Vocalist Lynn Keller performs at restaurants, cabaret clubs and for special events in and around Los Angeles. Her primary work as a soloist includes jazz groups, big bands and with piano accompaniment. Lynn’s performances are marked by clear tones and a musical abandon that inspires the listener. She punctuates her style with enthusiasm and genuine love of the music.

Pianist and bassist David Edelstein has worked with notable musicians including Dionne Warwick, Natalie Cole, and Gladys Knight on TV’s variety show “Solid Gold.” As a freelance artist, David has done recordings with Steely Dan and live concerts with jazz greats like Peggy Lee and Lee Ritenour.

Jeff Takiguchi, bassist, toured the world with the Ray Charles Orchestra. His career includes backing artists like Ron Townsen (of the Fifth Dimension) and Carmen McRae.

Drummer Wayne Hildenbrand has performed and recorded all around the world and with well-known artists like Kenny Garrett, Nicholas Payton, Eddie Holman, and Phil Crosby. He played on the maiden world tour of the Queen Mary II cruise ship.

Lead trumpeter Stan Hernacki has performed with such groups as the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Steve Allen Band, Lawrence Welk Orchestra, Al Martino, and many others including the infamous Los Angeles Raiders Band. He also enjoys playing Broadway shows and has played over 60 major Broadway productions.

Jazz trumpeter Bill Barrett has enjoyed playing with a variety of musical groups and performers including the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Harry James Orchestra, Steve Allen, Milton Berle, George Burns, and Jerry Lewis. Bill’s recording credits include playing for Barry Manilow “Singin with the Big Bands,” Glenn Miller "Glenn Miller Sound Lives Forever," Paula Kelly Jr. and the Modernaires with Tex Beneke, and Poco “Cowboys and Englishmen."

Trombonist Chris Tune has a varied background as a member of the San Gabriel Symphony and Symphony of the Verdugos with experience that spans musical genres including Top 40, R&B and jazz and swing orchestras.

Tenor and soprano sax player Dennis Akesson has performed with many jazz and dance bands including House Arrest and for many years with College of The Canyons Jazz Program.

Baritone saxophonist and flutist Kay Twombly has enjoyed playing with groups in the Los Angeles area including the Glen Roberts, Ron Bartley, and Leroy Lovett big bands.
