A South Bay Tradition for Those Seeking a Meaningful Musical Interlude in the Busy Holiday Season

Karla Devine is much loved by aficionados as the Artistic Director of the concert series at Trinity Lutheran, Manhattan Beach, where she is Organist, and Director of the Chancel and Children's Choirs. Karla is also a soprano with Long Beach Camerata Singers. She did her graduate work in Basel, Switzerland with renowned organist Eduard Müller, who was also the teacher of Gustav Leonhardt, and at the University of Minnesota with Heinrich Fleischer.

The Organ

The organ at Trinity Lutheran, Manhattan Beach is a mechanical-action "tracker" pipe organ built by Dobson Pipe Organ Builders, Ltd. of Lake City, Iowa. The only other Dobson organ in the Southland is the magnificent instrument in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, downtown. Among the premier American organ builders, Dobson recently built the organ for Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts (home of the Philadelphia Orchestra) and is building an organ for the Washington National Cathedral.
