December 4 – Abraiha returns to host her first Shimmyshowcase at Viento y Agua and the lovely Tahma, IrinaXara, Nadirah, and Jade will be performing!

Everyone is invited for a relaxing evening among friends. Select your favorite beverage, hot or cold, from an assortment of coffees, teas, smoothies or juice; add to that a tasty sandwich or pastry; and then seat yourself in the entertainment area to enjoy some really great dancing at NO cover charge!
SHIMMY SHOWCASE begins at 5:30 p.m. at Viento y Agua Coffee House in Long Beach at 4007 East 4th Street; 562-434-1182.
Note—N405-W22 (7th St) transition is closed for construction, so for those coming from the south, the best way is to exit the 405 at Westminster as the detour indicates. Then take Westminster through the PCH intersection until it turns into 2nd street. Take the first right immediately after the bridge and an immediate left. That street will turn into 4th and Viento Y Aqua will be on the right.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before show time (earlier if you’re a performer!), so you can first stop at the refreshment counter to get a delicious beverage, snack or sandwich; then head for the show area and grab a seat so you don’t miss any of our great performers!

December 11 – Shimmyshowcase presents an extra-special program hosted by Katerina with live traditional Turkish and Sufi music by SAF MAVI. Our featured guest performers Katerina & the Kabuki Dolls, Strawberry Butterfly, Akasha Star, Sarah al Nour, Taji, Lee Ali and Marguerite, all astounding dancers, will make this one Shimmyshowcase you don’t want to miss. Tell all your friends to be sure and head for Viento y Agua this evening for our 5:30 pm show!
December 18 – Saviya hosts our final Shimmyshowcase of 2011 and celebrates the holidays and her birthday with a perfect theme – “Presents.” Jeweled, feathered, furred, silky and decadent gifts, wonderful surprises wrapped up with a big satin bow! Join Saviya on her special day and be gifted by the incredibly creative and talented dancing of Raks Bahlam, Kamar, Anastasia, Draca and Ilana.
December 25 –NO SHIMMYSHOWCASE ~ MERRY CHRISTMAS!
January 1 – NO SHIMMYSHOWCASE ~ HAPPY NEW YEAR!
January 8 – The New Year is about beginnings—the start of another year brings new resolutions. Xandra celebrates the anniversary of her beginning with co-coordinator Draca. Joining them will be Beach Bellies with the lovely Meredith. They would love to hear from another dancer or two to help celebrate the New Year and begin a new Shimmyshowcase season in our new Viento y Agua home.
