Bruce Springsteen SXSW keynote to be aired

Adding to its schedule of can’t-miss coverage and events, NPR Music will offer a live worldwide webcast and broadcast of Bruce Springsteen’s keynote from the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference and Festival, on Thursday, March 15. This is the first time a SXSW music keynote or conference session will be streamed to everyone, everywhere.

The entire event will be available at NPR Music, via the NPR Music iPhone and iPad apps and at SXSW.com. The NPR Music broadcast will also air on many public radio stations across the country, including WXPN Philadelphia and WFUV New York (check local listings). NPR Music critic Ann Powers will host a blog during the keynote, and take questions from audiences around the world. Tune in live, Thursday, March 15 at noon (CT)/1PM (ET).

Today at NPR Music, Springsteen fans get another treat: an exclusive listen to ‘Rocky Ground,’ a new track from Springsteen’s forthcoming record Wrecking Ball.

More news from NPR Music at SXSW 2012 will be announced soon, including the annual NPR Music day party at the Parish on Thursday, March 15. Stay tuned. Since 2008, NPR Music and stations have broadcast and webcast a slew of concerts from SXSW, debuting new albums from The Decemberists and Broken Bells, and introducing audiences to Sleigh Bells, K’Naan, Bon Iver and many others. All past concerts, along with artist interviews and live audio and video performance sessions, are archived at: www.npr.org/sxsw
