Brandi Carlile on tour in support of new album

Bear Creek, the new album from Columbia Records recording artist Brandi Carlile, debuts at No. 10 on The Billboard 200, becoming her highest-charting album to date. The recordshot to No. 1 on the iTunes Store upon its release last week. Named for the studio where it was recorded - the rustic Bear Creek Studios located outside of Seattle - the album wasproduced by Brandi, band mates/co-writers Tim and Phil Hanseroth ("The Twins") andGRAMMY® winning engineer/producer/mixer Trina Shoemaker (Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Queens of the Stone Age).

Carlile will kick off an extensive tour next week with a sold-out, two-night stand at Weesner Amphitheater in Apple Valley, MN (6/20 & 21). The run will include a headline show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on July 14 and six dates on Dave Matthews Band's summer tour. See below for itinerary or visit http://www.brandicarlile.com/events.

Rolling Stone called "That Wasn't Me," the album's first single, "gorgeous" while Paste said it "summons goosebumps." (The new issue of Paste Magazine features a cover story on Carlile.) The track is already in the Top 15 at Triple A radio and the accompanying video - which features Kris Kristofferson - premiered last week at EW.com. You can check out the clip at

Carlile will perform "Raise Hell," another track from Bear Creek, on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" on June 28. "Hard Way Home" will be the "Song of the Day" at the Amazon MP3 Store next Thursday, June 21.

"What is it about Brandi Carlile's voice that gets right inside you? The power? Her range? It may be the way she can crack open a note," observed NPR's "All Things Considered." Carlile recently performed on a bill with Willie Nelson and Norah Jones at the NonCOMMvention in Philadelphia. Her performance is the "Live in Concert" feature today on the homepage of the NPR Music app and can also be seen at
http://www.npr.org/2012/05/24/153602668/brandi-carlile-in-concert.

"On 'Bear Creek,' Carlile becomes an American original...new, chiaroscuro material [such] as 'Save Part of Yourself' and 'Hard Way Home' - about the real nature of loss, limits and aloneness in adulthood - brings her closer to a league with Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and their brand of hell hounds," said The Seattle Times while The Boston Globe called Carlile "contemporary pop's most expressive and astonishing singer this side of Adele." "Brandi Carlile's new album, Bear Creek, shows off her gorgeous, emotive voice and her band's ability to weld musical styles together," said AmericanSongwriter.com.

Carlile's 2005 self-titled debut landed her on Rolling Stone's Top 10 list of artists to watch and she has steadily built a loyal fanbase, won over by her critically acclaimed albums and her band's non-stop touring. Her sophomore album, 2007's The Story, was produced by T Bone Burnett and elicited praise from Elton John, who appeared on a track on her 2009 album, Give Up the Ghost, which was produced by Rick Rubin and debuted at No. 26 on The Billboard 200. In 2011 she released her first live album, Live at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony. Carlile has toured with such artists as Ray LaMontagne, Dave Matthews Band, The Avett Brothers and Sheryl Crow and her songs have been heard in "Grey's Anatomy," "The Good Wife," "American Idol," and "Parenthood."
