Meek Mill wrapped up his two-month journey on Drake's "Club Paradise" tour with Waka Flocka, J. Cole, 2 Chainz and FrenchMontana on June 17th. VIBE Magazine and Boost Mobile have been along for the ride documenting the rapper's exploits in their "Road to Release" series
which can beviewed at http://www.vibe.com/page/road-release-meek-mill.
On the heelsof one of the best mixtapes of 2011, Meek Mill released his follow-up Dreamchasers
2 in May of 2012 which crashed several file sharing sites and has received over3 million downloads and 6 million views to date. Hostedby DJ Drama, the 20-track mixtape features appearances from MMG's Rick Ross and Wale, Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, Fabolous, 2 Chainz, Mac Miller, Trey Songz, and French Montana. The mixtape includes the standout Jeremih and
Drake-assisted "Amen" which Entertainment Weekly has dubbed as one of the "Best songs of
2012so far." The song is currently available on iTunes at http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/amen-feat.-drake-single/id534976553.
A video, shot in Philadelphia last week, will be airing soon.
After years of navigating Philly's trigger-happy rap circuit with mixtapes showcasing his street savvy tales, clever wordplay, and lively party starters, the street-certified MC joined Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group imprint in February of 2011, contributing a pair of hits to the ensemble's acclaimed 2011 compilation album, MMG Presents:Self Made, Vol. 1: the casket-rattling dedication to Afeni Shakur's son "Tupac Back" and the energetic summer anthem "Ima Boss" which attracted Jay-Z, Diddy, Birdman and Swizz Beatz for its remix. Now under the tutelage of Roc Nation, Meek Mill will release his anticipated debut album Dreams & Nightmares on August
28th.
