FilmFunds launches search app for movie info

FilmFunds (www.filmfunds.com ) will launch its much-anticipated mobile search app – a revolutionary piece of new technology that not only identifies a range of still images, but offers groundbreaking video recognition. Film lovers can simply point their smartphones at movie trailers, posters, billboards, ads and other film-related imagery, snap a photo, and instantly receive information about the film, buy tickets, etc., providing a powerful new tool for on-the-go audiences.

FilmFunds celebrates the app launch through a promotion with popular movie ticket service Fandango, entitled “Take One,” giving away 100 movie tickets every day for a full 100 days. If a trailer, poster or other ad materials aren’t in the FilmFunds database, simply upload/register it to the FilmFunds website to be automatically entered in the daily drawing to win movie tickets. The more uploads, the more chances to win! At the end of 100 days of summer, the app user with the most uploads will win the grand prize – a beautiful Fiat 500.

The app, which may be downloaded for free at www.FilmFunds.com or from the iTunes store, is powered by advanced Serge image and video recognition technology (recognizing up to 60 frames per second). The FilmFunds smartphone app gives users an easy way to learn more about, and purchase tickets for, this summer’s biggest blockbusters, including the The Avengers, Rock of Ages, Madagascar 3, Brave, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Dark Knight Rises, Ice Age: Continental Drift, The Bourne Legacy, The Expendables 2 and more.

“We think giving 100 tickets away per day throughout the summer movie season, not to mention the grand prize, is the perfect way to roll out our new FilmFunds app,” explains FilmFunds CEO Jason Scoggins. “This marks the first time video recognition technology is being used this way. Whether you’re watching a trailer online, driving past a billboard or walking past a one-sheet on your way to the theater, the app provides a fun way to buy movie tickets through Fandango and get instant information about what’s currently in theaters and upcoming releases.”
