The Century Family is proud to announce the launch of the inaugural Metal For the Masses tour, hitting the Avalon in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 14th. The tour is co-headlined by THE HAUNTED and DARK TRANQUILLITY, with support coming from INTO ETERNITY and Scar Symmetry. The Metal For the Masses tour is presented by Hot Topic, Decibel Magazine, Draven Shoes, and Lambgoat.com.
THE HAUNTED are touring in support of their newest album, The Dead Eye. Released on Halloween, The Dead Eye sees the thrash metal legends experimenting with their sound, leading to a more diverse and dynamic effort, while still retaining flashes of the heavy thrash sound that made the band famous within the metal community. On the band's previous album, The Haunted were a featured artist on the 2005 edition of the "Ozzfest" tour. The group has toured in the past with acts such as Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, In Flames, and Damageplan.
DARK TRANQUILLITY are touring in support of their upcoming new album, Fiction, hitting stores on April 24th. Alongside other Swedish melodic thrash acts such as In Flames and At the Gates, DARK TRANQUILLITY were one of the originators of the now-famous "Gothenburg" metal sound. This will be the band's first North American tour since a support run last spring with Opeth and Devildriver.
INTO ETERNITY are based out of Regina, Saskatchewan, and are touring in support of their critically-acclaimed new album, The Scattering of Ashes. This album is the first effort featuring the stylings of new vocalist Stu Block, and spotlights the band's continually evolving mix of progressive metal, thrash metal, and death metal influences. The band is following up a very successful 2006 run that saw them emerge as the breakout artist of last fall's Gigantour, where the band performed alongside heavy metal giants such as Megadeth, Lamb of God, and Arch Enemy.
As mentioned above, this tour will be hitting the Avalon in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 14th.
