Slugfest Records good to go

Slugfest Records owner/founder JoeMattis announces the formation of SLUGFEST RECORDS, an Artist Development Company (www.slugfestrecords.com ) to be distributed byADA/Warner Music Group. The label will concentrate on producing and releasing records by young, upstart rock bands. Slugfest has already inked deals with Alright, Jr. and Black Market Radio, featuring PeterCornell among others.
Joe Mattis, a Philadelphia area based music industry veteran is confident that the labels approach in specializing in rock and rock genre artists is the way to impact the market place. Mattis intends to develop and implement robust marketing and promotion plans on behalf of all of his artists.
Mattis says, "In this "new" music industry, it is important to nurture and develop young talent. The rock genre has seen a definite downturn of important artists and SLUGFEST will fill that void with the bands that we are signing. We are so excited about our first release, Black Market Radio which will be out in late summer."
Pete Cornell (brother of Chris Cornell of SOUNDGARDEN and AUDIOSLAVE), is the lead singer for Black Market Radio. He has this to say about his band's new label home: "We are really happy about our addition to the Slugfest family. Our crusade to save rock has just added reinforcements. The combination of our raw power as a band and SlugFest's long term plans are perfect. We will see everyone on the road!"
Black Market Radio's first release will be in early August with tour, radio and online support from the label and distribution company. www.slugfestrecords.comwww.myspace.com/slugfestrecords
