Southern punkers Black Diamond Heavies announce tour dates

Southern punk-ass bluesmen Black Diamond Heavies have announced the first round of dates in their U.S summer concert tour. Select shows will pair the band with labelmates Trainwreck Riders and Radio Moscow. In January, the Black Diamond Heavies released their debut album, “Every Damn Time,” on Alive Records, followed by a coast-to-coast winter U.S. and UK/European tour.

Black Diamond Heavies hail from the Southern States of America, but currently live as "vagrants/citizens of the world." Their music is urgent, raw and full of ass-shaking soul. The live show has been described as both "Pentecostal" and "Demon-Possessed". Touring internationally, the band has shared the stage with notable acts including Son Volt, The Immortal Lee County Killers lll, Thee Shams, T-Model Ford, Paul "Wine" Jones, Bob Log lll, and Scott H Biram. Black Diamond Heavies are a two-piece consisting of John Wesley Myers on bass keys, fender rhodes, organ, and vocals (left hand of rhythm, right hand of soul) and Van Campbell completing the lineup on drums and vocals.

About Bomp!/Alive Records
Bomp! was founded in 1966 by Greg and Suzy Shaw in San Francisco, CA. Initially a fanzine featuring contributions from a virtual who’s who of early rock writers, including Lester Bangs and Greil Marcus, the label released its first single in 1974 under Bomp! Records. The label stayed on the verge of a series of burgeoning rock movements, from powerpop to punk to new wave issuing releases from artists ranging from Devo to Iggy & the Stooges, Stiv Bators/The Dead Boys, The Plimsouls, and more recently the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Black Lips.

In 1994, Patrick Boissel moved his Alive Records imprint under the Bomp! umbrella and released the debut from then unknowns, the Black Keys. Currently, Alive Records is home to the Detroit’s infamous Soledad Brothers, Two Gallants, SSM, Trainwreck Riders, The Bloody Hollies, Radio Moscow and Black Diamond Heavies.
