Sing It Loud signs with Epitaph

Epitaph is proud to announce the signing of Minneapolis-based power-pop rockers Sing It Loud. The group recently entered the studio with producer and labelmate Josh Cain of Motion City Soundtrack to begin work on their forthcoming debut album, which will be released in fall 2008.
In the short time since the band’s forming in April 2007, Sing It Loud have been one of the scenes most exciting newcomers. Comprised of Pat Brown (guitar, lead vocals), Kieren Smith (guitar, vocals), Nate Flynn (bass), Ben Peterson (keys) and Dane Schmidt (drums), Sing It Loud play a surging style of fun, vibrant power-pop that’s driven by bouncy melodic choruses, bright catchy hooks and synth buzzing backdrops.

After recording a debut EP with producer Jordan Schmidt (All Time Low) the band caught the attention of both Cain and Epitaph president Brett Gurewitz. “When I first saw Sing It Loud live they seemed like they had been on tour for years, knowing how to talk to the crowd and really own their songs on stage” explains Cain. “Then when I found out they had only played four shows I was blown away and immediately wanted to work with them.”

With the strong recommendation from Cain and the enthusiastic interest from Gurewitz, the band signed with the label in late 2007. “Epitaph is a label we have all followed and supported since we were kids” says guitarist Kieren Smith. “We are very honored and excited to be a part of something that has influenced and inspired us to do what we do.”

In early 2008 the band entered the studio to work on their debut album with Cain in the producer’s chair. “Being from Minneapolis, working with Josh Cain from Motion City Soundtrack, was definitely something we were very excited to do.” continues Smith. “He has been like a mentor and older brother to all of us and doing our record with him was the most amazing thing any of us have ever experienced.”

From the label that brought you Motion City Soundtrack, The Higher and Farewell, comes the scene’s next big act, SING IT LOUD!
