Matisyahu and Chiodos added to Warped Tour main stage

The VANS WARPED TOUR® 2008 Presented By AT&T has announced two new additions for a portion of this summer’s trek. Matisyahu will join the tour for the July 9 (Atlanta), July 10 (Orlando), July 11 (Tampa) and the July 13 (Jacksonville) shows. Also look for Chiodos to perform a one-night-only show on July 18 in Detroit at Comerica Park.

"I'm really glad this opportunity came up with Matisyahu,” notes tour founder Kevin Lyman. “He's an artist I've always felt would be an amazing addition to the line up, so I'm excited to have him finally join us for a bit. It’s always great to have a band like Chiodos--who's been a part of the Warped family since the beginning of their careers--want to come back after all their success to spend a day with us."

Since his debut in 2004, Matisyahu has made his mark with a groundbreaking uncanny and electrifying fusion of Orthodox Judaism and classic reggae music. Born in West Chester, PA and raised in White Plains, NY, the young man formerly known as Matthew Miller would undertake a monumental odyssey before discovering his new identity--and voice--as Matisyahu (the Hebrew version of “Matthew”) and the name he adopted upon becoming observant.

Noted for his electrifying live shows, Matisyahu has brought his compelling mix of ancient and modern sounds and ideas to thousands of fans across the country. He has toured with 311, played numerous festivals (Coachella, Langerado, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits) and sold out his annual Channukah season tour, Festival of Light. Matisyahu’s breakthrough albums Live At Stubbs and Youth--which debuted on the Billboard chart at #4--were both certified gold. He is currently working on the follow-up to 2006’s Youth.

After a successful arena tour with Linkin Park and their own sold-out headlining U.S. tour, captivating post-hardcore group Chiodos make their return to the Vans Warped Tour with this one-night-only show. The Flint, MI sextet are presently receiving strong critical reaction for their powerful live show honed from non-stop touring and second album Bone Palace Ballet (Equal Vision) which debuted at #5 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart.

Produced by Casey Bates and mixed by David Bendeth (Paramore, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus), Bone Palace Ballet has now sold over 146,000 copies and spawned the melodic and enigmatic first single “Lexington (Joey Pea Pot with a Monkey Face).

The disc was hailed by Alternative Press magazine as “a frighteningly mighty album of exhilarating musicianship and inspired lyrical introspection that plays out like an evening at some glorious experimental-hardcore cabaret, topped by a nightcap at the brokedown bordello across the back alley. …Bone Palace Ballet is an arresting piece of post-modern musical art…”

Matisyahu and Chiodos will join previously announced VANS WARPED TOUR main stage acts including: Against Me!, All That Remains, Anberlin, Angels and Airwaves, As I Lay Dying, Bouncing Souls, Cobra Starship, Every Time I Die, From First to Last, GBH, Gym Class Heroes, Jack's Mannequin, Motion City Soundtrack, Norma Jean, Paramore, Pennywise, Reel Big Fish, Relient K, Rise Against, Say Anything, Story of the Year, Street Dogs, The Academy Is..., The All-American Rejects, The Bronx, The Dillinger Escape Plan and The Vandals, among others.
