PBS's "From the Top" nominated for three Emmys

The premiere season of PBS's From the Top: Live from Carnegie Hall was nominated today for three Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards.The series received nominations in the following categories: Outstanding Directing in a Lifestyle Show (Director: Don Mischer), Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction (Lighting Director: Alan Adelman), and Outstanding Achievement in Technical Direction/Electronic Camera/Video Control (Director: Don Mischer, Technical Director: Jon Pretnar).

Based on the popular NPR program From the Top and hosted by acclaimed pianist Christopher O'Riley, From the Top: Live from Carnegie Hall showcases the musical talents, offbeat humor, and compelling stories of America's best young classical musicians. The series was previously recognized with a CINE Golden Eagle Award and was a finalist in the New York Festivals 2008 International Television Broadcasting Awards. Season Two of the series premieres on PBS May 10, 2008 (check local listings).

The Daytime Creative Arts and Entertainment Emmy Awards will be presented at a black tieceremony on Friday, June 13 at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, in the Time Warner Building. The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2am-6pm during the 2007 calendar year.
