Celebrate this Sunday, Mother's Day by bringing your Mom to Coffee Haven to be entertained by some really fabulous dancers. Our theme is "Great Goddesses"--and this should be a great show--so please come join us--have a cup of Java, munch on something yummy and enjoy some really great dancing FOR FREE!

Below is our upcoming schedule for the next several Sundays at the Coffee Haven Internet Cafe in Long Beach. If you are a dancer interested in performing at an upcoming showcase, please check out the schedule below for open dates and then email us at

The SHIMMY SHOWCASE begins at 7 p.m. at the COFFEE HAVEN in Long Beach (1708 E. Broadway -- 562-437-3785).

UPCOMING SHOWCASE CALENDAR

May 11: Creative coordinator Alexiis has selected the perfect theme for the day--“The Great Goddesses.” Whether you are a creative dancing goddess or a beautiful mother goddess (or both!), we hope you'll join Alexiis, Meryem Vani, and the Hipsey Gypsies at Coffee Haven to celebrate this special day honoring all mothers.

May 18: NO SHOWCASE—It’s Gay Pride Day in Long Beach and the parking is many times worse than usual! We’ve found it’s better to take this night off and prepare for the big Memorial Day weekend Shimmyshowcase. See you then!

May 25: In honor of the holiday weekend, Shimmyshowcase is proud to bring back last year’s theme “In Memorium.” Abraiha, your coordinator, Lizbet, and Tracey will be performing. We seek a few other dancers wanting to express their love, appreciation and respect for someone whom they honor and hold dear in life and in spirit. June 1: Coordinator Katherine the Great brings you the Talisman Dance Company from San Diego, dancing to their own live music!. We’re still looking for dancers to comprise the second act of this show, so if you’d like to perform to your own music, please contact us at ShimmyShowcase@yahoogroups.com.

June 8: Coordinator Alexiis and Veronika will perform dazzling renditions of American Tribal style dance for you this evening. They would love to have a few more dancers performing to their own favorite middle eastern style, so if you’re interested, please contact us at ShimmyShowcase@yahoogroups.com.

June 15: We have plenty of openings for dancers eager to perform for the best audience in the world at Coffee Haven’s Shimmyshowcase. If you’d like to join Saviya, our coordinator for this evening, she would love to hear from you! Please contact us at ShimmyShowcase@yahoogroups.com.

June 22: Katherine the Great is celebrating her birthday, and she seeks dancers to perform and friends to participate in this first Shimmyshowcase of the summer. June 29: Shimmyshowcase happily welcomes back JJ & the Habibis from Laguna Beach to Coffee Haven. Join us for what promises to be a really fun show with this fabulous troupe.

Please allow time for parking to avoid missing any of the fun, so be sure to be at the coffee house well before 7:00 PM. We try not to start the show until everyone has settled with a tasty beverage.
