6th annual Micro Brew Fest in Catalina Sept. 20

Set Sail to Catalina Island for the 6th annual Micro Brew Festival set for September 20, 2008 from 1-4:00 p.m. Thirty-five breweries will showcase their latest handcrafted micro brews in the newly-opened Isthmus Beer Garden on the waterfront of Two Harbors California. Participating Breweries will include San Pedro Brewing Co., Firestone, Belmont Brewing, Pizza Port, Shipyard Brewing Co. and Rock Bottom. Enjoy unlimited beer and wine tasting, a silent auction and hors d'oeuvres while taking in the stunning waterfront view of Two Harbors and live music by Yvonne Perea Band. With only 500 spots available, travelers can purchase tickets in advance for $30 until September 17, 2008, when prices will go up to $40. Admission includes a commemorative beer glass.

According to Becky Mucha, Events and Catering Coordinator of Two Harbors Enterprises, The Micro Brew Festival "Is a great success every year and fun for friends spent listening to good music and drinking great beer on the beach."

Special transportation for the event will be provided with an extra Catalina Express heading back to San Pedro from Avalon at 6:15 p.m. on the evening of the brew festival. Since this is not a normally scheduled boat it is recommended that reservations be made as soon as possible. There will also be one ferry transporting brew festival attendees from Avalon to the festival site of Two Harbors at 10 a.m. and one ferry returning to Avalon from Two Harbors at 5:00 p.m., for $25 roundtrip. The boat accommodates 50 guests and reservations are recommended.
