KKGO 105.1 FM to expand with HD2 channel

L.A.’s only country music radio station, KKGO 105.1 FM "Go Country 105," has announced that it will expand its programming by dedicating its HD2 channel to classic country music.

"KKGO has a total commitment to country music and the country music fans in Southern California," says station President, Saul Levine. "And with classic country on our HD2 channel, we’re keen to reinforce that commitment by providing our loyal listeners with even more options."

The new format, debuting on Monday, September 22, will be billed as "Go Classic Country," devoted to proven country favorites from the ’60s to the early ’90s and legendary country artists from Loretta Lynn and Johnny Cash to Reba McEntire and Garth Brooks.

"Can you imagine having access to the greatest songs in Country Music history 24/7?" says McVay Media’s Charlie Cook, programming consultant to Go Country 105. "The music that made the genre the most programmed radio format in America - delivered in crystal clear digital."

The addition will not affect the current programming on Go Country 105. A digital FM simulcast of sister stations "News/Talk" 1260 & 540 AM will remain on 105.1 HD3.
