Streetlight Manifesto is preparing for a giant undertaking that will consume their 2009. Early in the New Year, fans of the long running NJ-based ska/rock act can start getting their hands on a series of releases as part of the 99 Songs of Revolution Project; a collection of 99 cover songs over 8 full-length CDs spanning all kinds of genres by all kinds of artists.
Teaming up with BOTAR (Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution), the series of 99 cover songs will include two releases from Streetlight Manifesto, two from BOTAR, and two each from two other Streetlight Manifesto related groups.
The first Streetlight Manifesto record for 99SOR will be out in early 2009, simultaneously with another of the 8 CDs (not the BOTAR one). Victory Records will be releasing the CDs and mp3s, and the band's own label Pentimento Music Company will release and distribute the vinyl.
“This will be a nice way for us to get into the studio and put out some new music as well as tide over people until our next full length,” singer/guitarist Tomas Kalnoky explains. “It's been a project that has been on the back burner for too long, and it's time to do something about it.”
Taking their music around the globe, Streetlight Manifesto will launch the "4 Out of 7 in 3 Before 9 Tour" covering 4 out of the 7 continents (U.S., Australia, Japan and U.K.) in 3 months before 2009. The trek kicks off October 8 in Farmingdale, NY.
Please note that the band’s October 11 date in Buffalo will be with the Mighty, Mighty Bosstones.
A band known for touring its collective asses off, Streetlight Manifesto really does manifest itself onstage. A true DIY artist, the band designs its own merchandise, records its own releases and even books its own tours. And as a result they’ve amassed a loyal and energetic fan base they are proud to call their own.

Whoever wrote this knows absolutely NOTHING about Streetlight Manifesto or BOTAR!
The two bands are almost one in the same with over-lapping members and the same lead singer. So its not like they're "teaming up" for this.. they have always been one in the same.
Besides that.. The author of this article basically cut and pasted a few messages from SM's website and added about 5 lines of bullshit commentary.
Hello Peter,
I received this from Streetlight Manifesto's publicist and thought it was interesting and should be shared. I am not familiar enough with the bands to agree or disagree, but I do feel your opinion counts.
Mickie
yeah, Peter, be nice
