The Gay Blades release new video and readying album and tour

NYC Trash Pop duo The Gay Blades are adding to their ever growing collection of insanity stricken videos (see "Free Scary Rides" on the band's MySpace) with a proper video for "O Shot", the first single off their debut record Ghosts. Having premiered on NME.com, and featured by music mavens TheTripwire.com, the absurd if not brilliant narrative directed by Chell Stephen (Gregory & The Hawk, Loverless), is set to make its television debut on MTV2's Subterranean Thursday at 1 AM EST!

In preparation for the UK release of Ghosts on the London based label Something In Construction (Air France, Loney Dear), The Gay Blades will head to the frigid British streets next week for a string of shows and promo which include appearances with The Spinto Band and a very special NME BRATS show with Tricky. UK indie rock bible NME has recently championed the band in a full page article citing "...The Gay Blades are always packing the kind of natural wit and bravado that most Big Apple hipsters couldn't learn even with regular classes from Bill Hicks." NME.com is currently hosting an exclusive free download of the band's saloon stomper "Bob Dylan's 115th Dream".

See below for an updated tour schedule including the band's trip to this year's SXSW!! The recent live session on Sirius XMU Blog Radio has accompanying video where the band's swagger injected and guitar slinging live show can be checked out: www.laundromatinee.com

"If Freddie Mercury sang for Death From Above 1979, these guys would open the show." - CMJ

"These guys are showmen with enough swagger, strut and snark to make the forefathers (Bowie/Mercury) of their genre proud." - MY OLD KENTUCKY BLOG

"There's something sort of legendary and epic in the way that they can come off as being the equivalent of falling down drunk or high as a kite every single second of the time spent in their company. But they keep it all together when they're playing their glamorous, punk rock." - DAYTROTTER

"'Hey She Say' sounds like Ted Leo's mod miming if dude didn't listen to so much Madness. Instead of some ska backbeat and bass winding, The Gay Blades shoot straight for the title of Riff Champions, unwinding their tune with some pasty all-over-the-place shredding." - RCRD LBL
