50 Cent to join Fall Out Boy on tour

Kicking their highly-anticipated US Tour up another notch, Fall Out Boy has announced that acclaimed rapper 50 Cent will join the band on five cities on their ‘Believers Never Die Part Deux’ tour, the band’s 2009 headline arena tour, which kicks off April 3rd in Phoenix at Mesa Amphitheater.

The ‘Believers Never Die Part Deux Tour’ has been selling out in many markets since tickets went on sale in late January. The dates featuring 50 Cent include Dallas on April 14th at Nokia. Each day this week, another city with 50 Cent performing will be announced on www.friendsorenemies.com. The tour comes in support of Fall Out Boy’s fourth full-length cd, FOLIE à DEUX, which was released late last year. Full list of tour dates to follow.

In addition, Fall Out Boy has released their new online game, Fall Out Boy trail (www.falloutboytrail.com ), which fans can play and win tickets to see the band. Another way for fans to get involved with the tour includes the Myspace Karaoke contest (http://ksolo.myspace.com/music/Fall-Out-Boy), where the grand Prize is an all paid trip to meet the band anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.

“America’s Suitehearts” the current single from FOLIE à DEUX, has been steadily moving up the radio charts. The band recently performed the track on Ellen, and will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 31st.

Fall Out Boy have built up a loyal following through relentless touring; they have performed over 1200 shows since their inception in 2000. The band’s 2007 release Infinity On High debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and was the follow-up to From Under The Cork Tree, their Island debut of May 2005, which spent 72 weeks on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Hailing from Chicago, Fall Out Boy – Patrick Vaughn Stump (vocals/guitar), Pete Wentz (bass), Joe Trohman (guitar), and Andy Hurley (drums) – have appeared on the covers of Rolling Stone, Spin, Blender, and Alternative Press and have performed on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien, CBS’s The Late Show with David Letterman, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, and more. They have won three MTV Video Music Awards and have received a Grammy nomination as well.
