DJ Hell to tour in support of new effort

It’s not too often that a dance music album has the press buzzing in quite the way they are for DJ Hell’s finest word – his double-disc artist album “Teufelswerk.” With collaborations from Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music), P. Diddy, Peter Kruder (Kruder & Dorfmeister) and a slew of other acclaimed underground artists the ambition is certainly there. However, this is also one of the most perfectly constructed and compelling dance albums you’re bound to ever hear. The UK’s Guardian is already hailing it as one of “2009’s finest albums.”

DJ Hell will be taking his album on the road for a short tour of North American markets including New York, Miami (Winter Music Conference), Toronto and Montreal (see below for all the gig info). Beyond his fantastic original music he’s also the visionary mind behind the world renowned International Deejay Gigolo brand.

Musically, Hell weaves an intoxicating spell through the 16 tracks comprising “Teufelswerk.” The nocturnal side (“Night”) offers a contemporary interpretation of Chicago house and Detroit techno. Here’ Ten-minute jams zoom and thrust with menacing intent. Its sunnier sister disc (“Day”) finds Hell embracing the rich cosmic groove of his roots. A lush, narcotic odyssey, the album sounds unlike anything he’s produced in the past…and it all culminates in a cosmic remake of Hawkwind’s classic “Silver Machine.”

“Teufelswerk” is released April 27 on International Deejay Gigolo Records.
