Hans David Rearick to debut new songs live in SoCal

From exclusive Grammy and Peoples Choice events to star-studded parties, singer-songwriter Hans David Rearick is spending his Hollywood nights on the red carpets and his homegrown days in the studio while he’s putting down tracks for his new album, Pages From My Songbook, scheduled for release in June. In the meantime, he’s debuting tracks from the new album and performing songs from the popular Beautiful Life EP at his upcoming shows at Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood on Tuesday, March 31 at 9:30 pm and a special solo show at Room 5 Lounge in Los Angeles on April 17.

Whisky A Go Go is located at 8901 Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood. For more information, call 310. 652. 4202. All ages are welcome. Room Five Lounge is located at 143 N. La Brea, Second Floor. Call 323. 938. 2504 for details. 21+ are welcome.

In the vein of singer-songwriters like Ryan Adams and Jack Johnson, Hans brings a grassroots, homegrown brand of rock and roll that feels like a couple of friends sitting on the porch and kicking back with a guitar, some beers and a splash of southern charm.

Hans has been pouring it on thick with a sweet ride from his days in Atlanta as an Elite Model to his new career in Los Angeles as a much sought-after musician who’s been spotted everywhere from red carpet parties at the Grammy Awards and People’s Choice Awards to an exclusive Sundance event.

The road wasn’t always easy for Rearick. In fact, his first job in Hollywood was an Urban-cowboy gig as a mechanical bull-rider operator at the Saddle Ranch Chop House on Hollywood’s famous Sunset Strip. There were plenty of ups and downs, but he collected a lot of stories, not to mention some bruises, along the way.

Although he left the bull behind, the stories remained with him. Rearick finally realized that he was a storyteller and looked toward a new path as a singer-songwriter. He stepped into the studio for the first time on his birthday a few years ago and never looked back.

The process is beautiful and often without control. It starts with a thought, then a verse and a chorus. The story comes quickly, like a lyrical flood gate that spills onto the page and, before he knows it, there’s another tune sitting in front of him.

The result was Beautiful Life, an EP of sweet tunes best served cold over ice like lemonade on a warm summer night.
