Wendy Wall to release third effort

Contemporary singer/songwriter Wendy Wall set to release much-anticipated third CD The Road To Paradise (Tumblestone Records). Scheduled for national release, via download and physical CD, on March 31, 2009, The Road To Paradise is a collection of 13 new songs written and performed by Wendy Wall.

Ms. Wall is best known for her Rob Fraboni (David Johansen, Blondie, Phoebe Snow, Bonnie Raitt) produced Postcards To The Stars, the critically acclaimed single from her Capitol Records award winning self-titled debut CD.

The Road To Paradise, produced by Wendy Wall and Stuart Lerman (Marshall Crenshaw, The Roches, Dar Williams), represents a return to the artists Greenwich Village musical roots and a return to longtime trusted friends and collaborators. Ms. Walls’ densely textured voice, evoking such greats as Joni Mitchell and Sarah Vaughn, is the initial draw. Further listening reveals the full beauty of the written song and musical arrangement. The Road To Paradise describes a journey of life, love, loss, transcendence, and hope.

Featured tracks include: Americana/Pop ballad A Wing and a Prayer. Sparse, acoustic lament Wallflower Waltz, live-show crowd pleaser and current fan-favorite, Fools Gold and Hugging The Coast, which displays Ms. Walls’ signature ability to craft songs with a literary sensibility.

About Wendy Wall:
Wendy Wall has maintained her grace. She's survived heartbreak, inner demons, deferred dreams and the sometimes seemingly unforgiving terms of life as an artist. Rather than lapse into bitterness or cynicism, which Ms Wall would describe as a personal defeat, she has the rare gift of turning pain into beauty.

With an unfiltered connection straight from heart to voice, Ms Wall sings of love lost, love renewed, of life, of community, of humanity, of “hard lessons learned” of transformation, in a voice that radiates warmth, empathy and a paradoxical innocence that somehow manages to coexist side by side with experience and wisdom. The lyrics, on their own, read as soul-searching statements on the human experience. An accomplished songwriter, Ms. Wall crafts musical poetry.

The finished fabric of her music allows what is essential to unfold slowly, the listener to savor the discovery. Through her creative process, Ms. Wall makes a real and lasting connection with her fans and creates a musical conversation to continue for years to come.
