Background
Renowned as an international concert pianist, Los Angeles-based Robert Edward Thies is Gold-Medal winner of the International Prokofiev Competition. Robert has performed worldwide with over forty leading orchestras including the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Mexico City Philharmonic, Auckland Philharmonia, Fort Worth Symphony, Pasadena Symphony, and the National Symphony of Mexico, to name a few. His teachers have included Robert Turner and Daniel Pollack, both protégés of the legendary Russian pedagogue Madame Rosina Lhevinne and the great pianist Josef Lhevinne.

Robert Edward Thies is a favorite of Southland chamber music aficionados for his solo recitals, performances with the Thies Consortand Pantoum Trio (with Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra Assistant Concertmaster Tereza Stanislav and Long Beach Symphony Orchestra Principal Cellist Cécilia Tsan), and featured appearances on the Jacaranda and Dilijan series, among others.
