Tyrants in Therapy resume residency at Taix's

Performing songs from their new and acclaimed CD High Class Trash plus some of their classic tracks like In the Shadow of Hitler and Too Tuff To Cry, the L.A. based punk cabaret duo Tyrants in Therapy is bringing back their Monday night residency at the 321 Lounge at Taix French bistro in L.A.'s Silver Lake area starting September 14 at 10 p.m. after a holiday break.

Their high-energy show clicked with the hip late night crowd at the venerable French venue, and one month became two, and the rest is history.

"To get a residency to play original music four months in a row anyplace in L.A., you have to either own the club or be sleeping with the booker," says Abbe Kanter, the female Tyrant "but in this case, I think The Tyrants brought something new and weird to the party, so we didn't have to do either."

The tall, curvaceous singer/songwriter is referring to the fact that her band the Tyrants in Therapy (www.tyrantsintherapy.com) has been held over for their fourth straight month of Mondays in the 321 Lounge at Taix, which began back in June.

"We call it Neo Night Club," continues The Tyrant Michael, the platinum blonde male Tyrant, "and it's like the supper club shows of the 50s and 60s that mixed comedy, music, and madness. Kind of like The Rat Pack on acid."

Renowned rock photographer Richard Aaron, who has shot famed artists such as Andy Warhol, David Bowie, Patty Smith, Billy Idol, George Clinton and Iggy Pop to name a few, recently captured images of the Tyrants in action at their most recent performance at Taix.

In other news, the TIT will be heading to NYC for an appearance on FOX's Strategy Room on Thursday, September 24, where the Tyrants will share there political views on America with a comical twist during the odd ball” segment, along with a musical performance. TIT then travels to northern California for a performance and interview on the popular morning TV show, Sacramento & Co. on Thursday, October 1.
