Pasadena job fair canceled, Northwest Community Plan meetings set

Please be advised that a seasonal job fair scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Pasadena Convention Center has been canceled.

------------
Neighborhood associations, residents, business owners and the faith community are encouraged to provide their opinions about the future direction of Pasadena’s Northwest Community Plan this fall.

The plan articulates a strategy for upgrading and restoring Northwest Pasadena in the areas of housing, economic development, employment opportunities, infrastructure improvements, social services and public safety.

The previous community plan helped revitalize the area by bringing in Fair Oaks Renaissance Plaza, Foothill Vocational Opportunities, CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, Bryant Office Building, Toledo Holmes Office Building, Renaissance Court, Orange Grove Gardens and Heritage Court, with more projects proposed or underway.

Two more focus groups are scheduled:

* Residents in Districts 3 and 5—Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at La Pintoresca Library, 1355 N. Raymond Ave.

* Faith-based organizations – Thursday, Nov. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Villa-Parke Community Center, 363 E. Villa St.
