Richard Anthony donating proceeds from single to charity

Richard Anthony is an artist who is all about being connected; connected to his music, to his listeners and to his roots. It’s no surprise, when you learn what drives this artist, that he is donating all the proceeds from the first single (‘Even If’) off his latest album to charity.

It’s also probably appropriate that ‘Connected’ should be the title of this soulful singer-songwriter’s sophomore album.

Anthony says he got into music because he wanted to be able to touch people; first through writing poetry and then through his uniquely personal lyrics.

Having made his unexpected debut singing a specially-written song at a friend’s wedding – something he never expected to do – Anthony soon developed a taste for performance. Without wanting to attach himself to the limitations of a band, he has indulged that passion at charity events, choir concerts and weddings.

But it’s in this recording – a double album to be released in two phases – that you can hear the full amazing range of Anthony’s talents.

‘Connected’ began life as just one song. ‘Even If” tells the story of how it feels to foster a child and of the unimaginable pain faced by those who may have to ultimately give one up. Anthony has donated 100% of the proceeds of the single to charities helping support foster children. It’s all about staying connected; about staying true to what you believe in.

In fact every single beautifully arranged and constructed songs on this album is a part of what Anthony believes in. The styles may be difference, with his influences ranging from Pet Shop Boys to Stevie Wonder and back again, but the soul of the artist is ever-present.

That soul is what will keep Richard Anthony connected to the music loving world for a very, very long time. You can check out this great performer doing what he does best, live, at http://www.youtube.com/user/artistrichardanthony?feature=mhee.

The first part of ‘Connected’ is available to buy now, with the second part due to follow in August.
