Bon Iver adds LA tour date

By popular demand, Bon Iver has announced a second L.A. area performance taking place on September 20 at Gibson Amphiheatre. Other Lives will be supporting. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 29 at 10 AM and can be purchased at LiveNation.com, at select Live Nation and Ticketmaster retail outlets and via Charge-By-Phone (800)745-3000.

For the shows, Justin Vernon will perform with an 8-piece band that includes many musicians who contributed to his latest album, Bon Iver. The touring band will consist of regular Bon Iver contributors Sean Carey (drums, piano), Mike Noyce (guitar) and Matt McCaughan (drums), Rob Moose on violin and guitar (Antony and the Johnsons, The National), Mike Lewis on bass (Andrew Bird, Happy Apple), and a horn section including Reginald Pace, Colin Stetson (Tom Waits, Arcade Fire), and C.J. Camerieri (Rufus Wainwright, Sufjan Stevens).

Pitchfork rated the Bon Iver album 9.5 out of 10 and said this about Vernon, “Now that we've heard him singing hooks with Kanye West and taking the lead on Gayngs songs that touch on R&B and soft rock, the general sphere of Vernon's voice is clear. He simultaneously evokes the grain and expression of soul music along with the mythological echoes of folk. But more importantly, no one else sounds like him.”
