Summer Solstice benefit for Five Acres July 21 in Pasadena

On Thursday, July 21st, Five Acres will kick off its 3rd Annual Swanky Summer Cocktails ~ “Summer Solstice” ~ at Old Pasadena’s very own gastropub, Kings Row. The event is sponsored by Five Acres’ Young Professional Society and will raise money for the Five Acres children’s summer activities fund to underwrite exciting outings to the zoo, the beach, the movies and more.

Guests will enjoy live music, delicious appetizers and specialty sorbet martinis courtesy of Fosselman’s Ice Cream Company. Joseph Rene Salon and Kodi Boutique will offer a splash of summer fashion as added entertainment.

Five Acres is a child and family services agency in Altadena that strengthens families and prevents child-abuse through treatment and education in community-based and residential programs. Originally founded as an orphanage in 1888, today Five Acres offers an array of services including a residential treatment center, a non-public WASC-accredited school, mental health services, foster care, adoption services and domestic violence prevention.


Housed in a century old building on Colorado Boulevard and restored to its original state, Kings Row boasts a vast menu of pub aka comfort food in a hip yet casual atmosphere that also includes all new furniture, large communal tables, hanging lights, and a redesigned spacious outdoor patio that they call their "beer garden".

Kings Row completes the gastro pub experience with a full bar of cocktails made from their own infusions, cordials, and bitters plus the restaurant has expanded its draught beers selections to offer more local, small batch beers.
