The Hollywood Arts Council’s 26th Annual Children’s Festival of the Arts will be held Sunday, August 14th from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. at Paramount Pictures Studio, 5555 Melrose Ave.
This Free Children’s Festival is a day-long celebration of the arts and culture in Hollywood. The festivities will include a full schedule of performances featuring a variety of music and dance from around the world to entertain the entire family. Performers include Screen Actors Guild Foundation Book Pals, Native American dancers from United American Indian Involvement, BFOC Irish Dance Company, Palpitating Panthers jump rope team, Russian Entertainment Unlimited, and other surprises. An assortment of art workshops with professional artists will provide children the opportunity to create their own art pieces to take home, in a variety of styles including Mexican Tin Painting, Artist’s Trading Cards, Wizarding Wands, Spanish Tiles, Puppets, African Masks, and more! Look for Looney Toons characters courtesy of Six Flags Magic Mountain, and our TBA celebrities and performers! There will be face painters and many other surprises to delight young and old alike. Food will also be available for purchase.
The festival is presented by the Hollywood Arts Council and is sponsored in part by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Paramount Pictures, Studio District Neighborhood Council, East Hollywood Neighborhood Council, AEG, Sunset Gower + Sunset Bronson Studios, Alliance Residential Company, Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council, Discover Hollywood Magazine, Screen Actors Guild Foundation, Children's Hospital LA, Barnsdall Arts, Utrecht, Council President Eric Garcetti and Councilmember Tom LaBonge.
The Hollywood Arts Council is a community-based organization founded in 1978 to promote, nurture, and support the arts in Hollywood. The free annual Children’s Festival of the Arts is one of many projects and events presented by the Council to enhance the quality of life in the city. The Council’s projects also include Project SOAR (Students Overcoming All Risks), an after school art program presented in Hollywood area elementary schools. The Hollywood Arts Council’s funders include the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Paramount Pictures, Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation, Bank of America Foundation, The Walt Disney Company, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Greater Griffith Park Neighborhood Council, and the Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council.
