Muse/ique to honor 9/11 with free concert in Pasadena

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11, an inspirational concert will be performed on the Pasadena Civic Auditorium Plaza.

“9/11 at 7,” the free concert on Sunday, Sept. 11, will feature MUSE/IQUE with the Pasadena Master Chorale performing music from Bach, Tchaikovsky, Paul Simon and Gershwin. A presentation of the colors--to salute our city and country through the carrying of our flags--will be conducted by Pasadena’s police and fire departments.

“This event is intended to observe the 10th anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001 and to reach out to unite the wide diversity of our community,” said Mayor Bill Bogaard. “As we all come together that evening, we will share our great pride of Pasadena and the United States of America.”

MUSE/IQUE Artistic Director and Conductor Rachael Worby stated: “In recognition of this significant anniversary in America’s history, MUSE/IQUE is honored to have the opportunity to unite our community through the power and joy of music. We are thrilled to be joined by the Pasadena Master Choral and by the extraordinary actor Wendie Malick for what we hope will be a memorable and uplifting event. Music is life!"

All are welcome to attend the outdoor performance from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Seating will be on a first-come basis.

The Pasadena Civic Auditorium is located at 300 E. Green Street in Pasadena, CA. For more information call 626-795-9311 or go to www.visitpasadena.com.
