Renowned jazz vocalist Denise Donatelli will perform the last concert of the Music on the Main summer jazz series at Descanso Gardens Thursday, Aug. 25. The concert begins at 5:30 p.m.
Donatelli is known for her warm vocals and eclectic tastes in music. She was nominated for the 2010 Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album for her 2010 album “When Lights Are Low.” She has trained as a musician since the age of 3, but did not begin her professional career until her sons were in their teens. Based in Los Angeles, she performs at noted jazz venues around the United States, as well as working for television and commercials.
Her concert closes the Music on the Main summer jazz series, which presented 10 weeks of jazz concerts. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets and picnics (normally not allowed in the Gardens) and settle back to savor the performance.
