Join The Muck in celebrating the Pacific Islands with a special luau dinner and a performance by Kutturan Chamoru Performers (KCP), an authentic Chamoru dance ensemble that represents the indigenous Pacific Islanders of the Northern Marianas Islands. Striving to pass on the stories, legends, and dances of their ancestors to the present and coming generations, KCP has performed all over the world and have sold out at The Muck. The performance will be accompanied by full pig and Colette’s great luau food. Also, La Habra Ukelele Ensemble will perform at dinner in the courtyard.
$100 will be given out in prizes for the best Hawaiian shirt!

Dick Dale, the “King of the Surf Guitar”, will celebrate his 50th anniversary in music with the Fullerton College Orchestra at the Plummer Auditorium. This fundraiser benefits The Muckenthaler Cultural Center Arts Education programs and the Fullerton College Foundation’s scholarship programs.
The first Dr. Jim Young Fullerton Arts Legacy Award will also be awarded to Robert Jensen, Dean of Fine Arts, Fullerton College.
Dr. Jim Young is the namesake of this award because he is the epitome of arts legacy in Fullerton having been the facilitator of Fullerton's performing arts programs and buildings for many decades. He will also receive the award named for him.
Bob Jensen has served as the Dean of Fine Arts since January 2005 after having taught in the Theatre Arts Department since 1980, where he distinguished himself as an award-winning director, designer, and instructor who loves to teach. Bob's work has been recognized by the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival, OC Weekly, Los Angeles Times and the National Council of Instructional Adminstrators. He has twice won a Staff of Distinction award at Fullerton College, and he was selected one of four finalists for the college’s 2010 Teacher of the Year.
