Shimmy Showcase Sunday

August 14 -- Your coordinator for this Shimmyshowcase is the lovely Abraiha who welcomes Nadirah, Masa, and Paquita to I-Candy’s magic carpet. Please be sure to join us on this August 14 evening for another wonderful evening of bellydancing and camaraderie because next Sunday we’re taking a break!



Note—N405-W22 (7th St) transition is closed for construction, so folks who normally take that route please take note and allow enough time for an alternate route!

Everyone is invited to this cozy haven for a relaxing evening among friends. Select your favorite beverage, hot or cold, from an assortment of coffees, teas, smoothies or juice; add to that a tasty sandwich or pastry; and then seat yourself alongside our magic carpet to enjoy some really great dancing at NO cover charge!



SHIMMY SHOWCASE at I-Candy Coffee begins at 6:00 p.m. I-Candy is located in Long Beach at 1708 E. Broadway; 562-437-3785.



Please allow time for parking to avoid missing any of the fun. Since street parking around I-Candy Coffee is scarce, we recommend you try the perimeter of Bixby park located two blocks east of I-Candy Coffee at Broadway and Cherry. We appreciate your arrival 15 minutes before show time (earlier if you’re a performer!) so you can get your refreshments and grab a seat and allow us to begin promptly at the scheduled time.

August 28 – The Shimmyshowcase team is proud and delighted to bring you a special treat—Shimmyshowcase founder Katerina will be guest coordinator with LIVE MUSIC by Saf Mavi. Katerina’s troupe Kabuki Dolls will perform, as well as Lee Ali and Politti. Note we’re starting extra-early for this showcase only--at 5:00 p.m. Be sure to mark your calendar as this will be one Shimmyshowcase you won’t want to miss!



September 4—No Shimmyshowcase this weekend as we’re celebrating Labor Day.



September 11 – On this tenth anniversary of 9-11, Shimmyshowcase presents “In Memoriam.” This will be a program of reflection and remembrance dedicated to those who have impacted our lives. Coordinator Xandra is thrilled to have the exquisite Kamar and Dreamswirls perform with her on this special evening. September 18 – Back by popular request, Amber Ray presents the second annual Shimmyshowcase Reggae Night! It’s time once again to put on your mellow and enjoy a “natural high.” Guest dancer Siraj is already on tap to help make you feel good.
