"Wrecking Crew" news and screening in Fullerton Aug. 27

Dear WC Fans and Friends,

Here is information about upcoming fundraising screenings as well as the latest outtake featuring Richard Carpenter. The second outtake features the great pianist, Mike Melvoin. If you're wondering how many more outtakes I have up my sleeve, just remember I've been making this film for 15 years so there's plenty to go around!

I'm trying to share the film around the country for fund raisers but it's sometimes logistically difficult with time and financial concerns. So please hang on, my goal is to pay off the licensing by the end of the year and release it on DVD in 2012.

We had some great screenings in Nashville and Pittsburgh this summer. Many great musicians from both cities came out to support the film. A special thanks to Joe Chambers of the Musician's Hall of Fame for his kind donation. Joe Chambers Musicians Hall of Fame was an amazing museum that gave the players a chance to be honored. But unfortunately, between politics and the floods of Nashville, his museum had to close down last year. The great news is that on the night of our Nashville screening he had just received word after more than a year of negotiations, that the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum had finalized an agreement with Metro Nashville to move the tourist destination into the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. When it opens, it is a must for any music fan. Joe chose one of his favorite Wrecking Crew songs,"The Beat Goes On," for his dedication

In August, we will be in Southern California at Mo's Fullerton Music Center .

Then in September, WC will be presented by The Tallgrass Film Association and KMUW. This is a return visit to Wichita where the Wrecking Crew was honored as an Audience Award Winner for the 2008 Tallgrass Film Festival.

Return to San Pedro @ Alvas on Sunday, September 11th.

Then off to Minneapolis and New Jersey's Bergen College for another mini east coast tour.

Richard and Karen Carpenter were one of the most successful soft-rock acts of the Seventies as the "Carpenters". With their talent and the support of folks like Hal Blaine, Joe Osborn and others, they gave us hits that are still heard today.

Mike Melvoin's credits, in all media and all styles, are the Who's Who of music ranging from Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Peggy Lee, Tony Bennett, and Joe Williams to Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, John Lennon, Tom Waits and the Beach Boys.
