Carey Appel working on new album

From acclaimed songwriter to selfless philanthropist, Carey Appel (http://careyappel.com/ ) provides harmonies in all aspects of her life. Having discovered her love for music at an early age, Carey worked with a vocal coach to develop texture and resonance to her already soulful and soothing tone. After her first concert in 2001, Carey's passion grew stronger, as she announces the release of her inaugural album, "New Favorites."

Carey teamed up with prominent composer and arranger, Dan Siegel to create "New Favorites," a perfect balance of soul, R&B, and a sophisticated folk flair. "Heavenly Day," is one of many brilliant songs that evokes emotion and exemplifies the fervor, compassion, and drive that defines Carey Appel. Influences of Melody Gardot, Patti Griffin, and Cheryl Wheeler resonate while Carey deliciously carves her own footprint on some of these lesser-known tunes.
When Carey isn't creating powerful ballads, she gives back to her community. Carey has worked with the Performing Arts Program of Children's Institute -- an organization that treats abused children and their families. A percentage of each album sold benefits the Performing Arts Program. Her caring and noble demeanor transcends beyond her charity and can be seen, heard, and felt in her music.

Carey performs regularly in Los Angeles and is currently working on a series of projects including her new album of original material slated to be released this fall. "I have been blessed to work with talented individuals to help me tell my story; it's been a collaborative effort and richly rewarding," said Appel.
