Artist in Residence: Malik Abdul Rehman

October 31— November 4
Artist Malik Abdul Rehman demonstrates traditional naqashi decorative painting and teaches basic techniques during a week-long residency. Visiting from Pakistan, Mr. Rehman comes from a long line of artists who have done exquisite decorative work and wall paintings. The jewelled tones and precise details of naqashi date back to the 18th century, and the highly geometric designs are used to decorate walls, ceilings, woodwork and ornamental camel skin items.
