Indio Presenta kicks off Oct. 30 in LA

Today Indio beer and VICE announce the release of the first Indio Presenta collaboration featuring Monterrey, Mexico’s raverton pioneer Antonio Hernández (Toy Selectah) and San Antonio’s (Ernest Gonzales) Mexicans with Guns. El Llano Maldito (“The Damned Valley”) is available to music fans 21 and older globally via free download (where permitted by law) starting today exclusively at the “Inside el Tour” tab on www.Facebook.com/IndioBeer.

The Indio Presenta music series is part of Hola Indio, an on-going, multi-city concert tour produced by VICE, benefitting the National Museum of Mexican Art (NMMA) and sponsored by Indio – a unique Mexican dark beer which launched in the U.S. earlier this year. “Hola Indio is designed to connect Mexico’s most talented artists and musicians with the bands and artists they admire stateside,” said Ben Dietz, VP of Sales, VICE. “The goal here is to catalyze unexpected or otherwise impossible artistic and musical partnerships and to allow audiences to enjoy them in-concert and online.”

El Llano Maldito” brings together Toy Selectah’s genre bending mix of Colombian-Mexican cumbias, hip-hop, breakbetas, and reggae with Mexicans with Guns’ storming drum’n’bass. “‘El Llano Maldito’ to me could soundtrack a chapter of ‘Breaking Bad’ or a Robert Rodriguez film,” said Toy Selectah. “Our goal was to cut a track that could accompany a nighttime drive on an old road close to the U.S.-Mexico border.”

The bands are commemorating the release with special live performances at theHola Indio Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) events, during which Mexicans with Guns and Toy Selectah will perform interlocking sets that will feature “El Llano Maldito”.  Exclusive 7” pressings of “El Llano Maldito” will be given away at the shows to fans 21 and older.

Stay tuned for the next two tracks, including Ojalá” (“Hopefully”), a combination of the musical stylings of traditional Mexican band Francisco y Madero and Magic Touch, a San Francisco-based drummer; and “Jinx” by Dani Shivers and Chrissy Murderbot, which will be available in the coming weeks.

FANS CAN HEAR/DOWNLOAD (where permitted by law) “EL LLANO MALDITO” FROM INDIO’S FACEBOOK: www.Facebook.com/IndioBeer (“Inside el Tour” tab)
