Pasadena emergency response training workshop Oct. 20

Pasadena Vice Mayor Margaret McAustin invites the public to attend an emergency preparedness workshop from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, October 20 at Jefferson Elementary School, 1500 E. Villa Street.

Vice Mayor McAustin, representing City Council District 2, is co-hosting the free workshop with the Pasadena Fire Department.  Space is limited and advanced registration is required.  Go to www.cityofpasadena.net/district2 for more information and to register.

“Experience tells us it pays to be prepared and everybody should know what to do when the next disaster or emergency occurs,” Vice Mayor McAustin said.  “This important workshop will provide ‘hands on’ training for our residents when faced with an emergency situation, including basics on disaster medical, emergency preparedness, fire suppression and light search-and-recovery techniques.”

Priority registration will be given to District 2 residents.  No children under the age of 14 will be allowed to participate.

A confirmation email that includes information on what to bring and wear the day of the event will be sent after you submit your completed registration information.

McAustin said volunteers are also needed the day of the event to help.  Volunteer position information will be included with the confirmation e-mail.

Contact McAustin’s Field Representative Margo Morales at (626) 744-4742 or by email to mlmorales@cityofpasadena.net.
