He Is We to tour

After a tumultuous year of growth – both physically and emotionally, Rachel Taylor of Republic Records’ HE IS WE is returning to what she does best… the music. With her first tour in nearly a year since her health issues sidelined her, Rachel will be hitting the road of the Western half of the US for an 11-date tour, playing music from her debut album My Forever and EP Skip to the Good Part, as well as new songs from her upcoming follow-up due later this year. Americana artist Dylan Jakobsen will support. (tour dates below).
To kick off the tour, He Is We will host a StageIt show on Monday, April 8th beginning at 9pm EST / 6pm PST. Tickets for the one-time acoustic live event are $5 and can be purchased at http://tinyurl.com/heiswe-stageit. Like the tour it is kicking off, Dylan Jakobsen will open the show.

If there’s one thing about He Is We, it is its devotion to its fans - the fans who helped launch them to be 2009’s #1 Unsigned Band on PureVolume and were instrumental to getting them signed to a major label deal. With its mercurial ascent to critical and commercial acclaim, the subsequent growing pains resulted in the departure of her original bandmate Trevor Kelly. And just as My Forever was largely autobiographical in its wide-eyed innocence, the follow-up will document the difficult year Rachel endured and the support she received along the way. "This next album is a makeup of the chapters the fans have seen me go through," she explains. "It is my 'thank you' to each and every single prayer, tweet or email sent my way… I have never felt so connected with the fans. They have truly become family to me and I owe them everything."

Originally formed as a duo in Tacoma, WA who decided on a lark to write a few little acoustic pop songs in between work breaks at a musical instrument store, He Is We blossomed into an indie pop powerhouse whose debut album appealed to a huge audience. When My Forever was initially released, it astoundingly debuted on Billboard's Heatseekers Album Chart at #6 and zoomed up iTunes's Pop Album Chart to #3 almost immediately, spawning two hit singles "Happily Ever After" and"All About Us (featuring Owl City)". They had collected a wealth of accolades in media from Alternative Press (“big enough for live sing-alongs and sweet enough for to soundtrack next year’s prom”) to AbsolutePunk (“For just a debut record,My Forever has set He Is We up for greatness”) to About.com (“If you love sweet, straightforward, melodic pop music, you owe it to yourself to listen to He Is We”).

He Is We's as-yet-untitled second album is due in 2013 on Republic Records.
