Founded in 1979, Southern California's renowned and much-loved Pacific Trio has played more than 1,000 concerts in the United States, Canada, and Europe. They serve as trio-in-residence at the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program in Southern California. In 1986, the trio made its New York debut at Lincoln Center in a concert benefitting the New York chapter of the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Hollywood film music had its roots in Vienna from Alexander Zemlinsky through his famous student Erich Wolfgang Korngold (The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)). Both Zemlinsky and Korngold fled the Nazis for the United States. Swiss-born Ernest Bloch also found his way to America in 1916.

This is Pacific Trio's final public performance of these three late-nineteenth-early-twentieth-century gems before recording them next month for the Capriccio label based in Vienna.
